Time to get caught up on everything.

I took a trip to Utah at the beginning of September to hang with my fam. So fun. Some of the highlights of the trip (among many) were a BYU women's soccer game (they won! go cougs!!) and... next picture...

Luke and some other Mormons hosted a Noon Service at Harvard's Divinity School in September. HDS invites various religious communities to host their weekly service, which gives the rest of the community a chance to get to know their faith. It was awesome! They had a great turnout. So great that there was no pizza left for us after. I'd rather have had not such a great turnout.

Love that guy

Luke at him go. Love that guy 🙂

For Lukey's bday, we visited a Greek Orthodox monastery so he could pick out some iconic artwork. There is a dress code for entering the monastery, so they provided clothing for me to put on over my clothes (head covering, long skirt, etc.). It was very cool! And beautiful, as you can see :)

If I ever have the honor of meeting him, I swear that is what I will say as I shake his hand. And then I hope to be hoisted onto a group of both black and white young men's shoulders

I'm going to admit right now that it's been so long since some of these pictures were taken that I can't really remember what all of them are. This one must be... a boat race. Rowing race. Yes.

I do, however, remember this trip. Cape Cod!! The Cape! Soooo cool and fancy just us hangin out on The Cape. Don't mind that it's winter and about 40 degrees outside. Cause we're on The Cape

This is a completely out of order picture of our trip to Rockport Mass but how could I not include it here?? It's so cute!! Really fun day trip. More pics of that to come, perhaps? We all know by now it's best that I make no promises as far as this blog goes. But we can hope...

Last and not at all least (maybe greatest), I've decided to randomatically include some of my favorite pictures of the star of this blog. I just love finding gems like this and know that it is my duty to share them with the world, that others may benefit from seeing him as much as possible. Though I have many, MANY, pictures of this sort, I'll only share his best.

Move from Peabdy to Wigglesworth :)

Goodbye Peabdy Terrace!

For some reason the only picture that made it from the move :).  Also, one thing we absolutely agree on: avocados are absolutely delicious

Montreal!!

Image

THIS picture was taken after we butt about 40 cars waiting in line at the border crossing because we thought we could go through the “Trucks” lane that doesn’t even require a stop.  We were wrong.  And we were punished.  This is our sheepish “we’re kind of embarrassed and kind of sorry but also mad that we didn’t get our way” face.

Image

But not to worry!  We were soon back to taking funny face pictures of ourselves with our camera phones 🙂

Image

Our hotel: “Holiday Inn Downtown Chinatown Montreal” we never quite leave America when we leave America do we?  Thank goodness for that 😉

Image

First stop: poutine!  (eaten during Olympic synchronized swimming watching, both were surprisingly enjoyable!)

Notre Dame Basilica!

Naturally, the highlight of the trip

“The Black Watch”-Canada’s answer to a “concerning” rise in American military strength in the 1800’s.  They should be worried.  They have, at times, been worthy of being in our crosshairs-said no American president ever.

La Matraca mexican joint.  YUM

Image

Dr. Frost ice cream-also YUM.  The timing of this picture is providential, though, as we had just seconds before seen a nudey band of protestors stand in that very place.  yikes

Summer in a million pictures…

We left Luke at home. We needed some “no-drama” time together.

ImageOne more reason to come to Massachusetts… beautiful Singing Beach in Manchester-by-the-Sea, yes it’s as charming as its name!

ImageLuke and I like include nearby people in our pictures as “friends”.  That guy could have been a real nice friend.

Trip to the Mapparium (very cool, btw) with Kathy and Phillip!  Luke had just fallen asleep in the bathroom and I had to go in there (the boy’s bathroom!!) to wake him up for our tour.  He was still a little sleepy and kept making grumpy faces at strangers but otherwise enjoyed the three-story, painted glass globe:

And finally…

ImageJust thought you guys might have wondered, “Julie, you’re so lucky, what’s it like to come home to the famously handsome, witty, intelligent, famous (yes famously famous) Luke Drake?”  Now you know. “Laptop Case Head.” It’s the best thing ever 🙂
